Time-limited subsidies (sometimes called Rapid Re-housing) have grown rapidly as a strategy to address homelessness, but there’s relatively little evidence on their effectiveness.
The California Policy Lab at UCLA hosted a webinar to share the results of a study that tracked outcomes for 3,700 L.A. adults during the two years they were eligible to have their rent subsidized, as well as for two years after.
Speakers, including Janey Rountree, Dr. Robert Santillano, and LAHSA’s new Chief Programs Officer, Dr. Abbilynn Miller, discussed how the program is reducing homelessness and some of the ways that TLS could be strengthened to help more eligible adults use the subsidy.
